Daily Dig pt II – Oct 13

Two “Daily Digs” in a day? Time to repent, the end is near!

Coaches Poll

The polls for October 13th were released, and in my opinion it looks like the coaches got the Class 4A polls mostly right, especially with St. Pius’ win over Albuquerque Academy by last Tuesday night.

One has to wonder what effect Rio Rancho’s loss to Cleveland last night will have on their standings next week.

As reader Sarah pointed out, the 2A results are askew, especially with respect to Mesilla Valley Christian.  MVCS, who dropped matches to both district rivals Lordsburg and Cloudcroft, is sitting in last place in 6-2A with a 9-6 overall record, and 0-2 in district.

While Estancia and Bosque are strong in district 3-2A, Estancia in 3rd is ahead of Bosque (5th) in spite of dropping two of three games to Bosque.

Finally, all due respect to Dexter, but they have no business garnering any votes with a 4-11 record.

I would hope the the 2A coaches take some time to analyze the teams and cast votes to the teams that deserve them.

El Paso Chapin defeats El Paso High

With all the coaching cross-pollination, the rivalry is getting interesting. Read about the great contest in the El Paso Times.
