  1. I’m a big La Cueva volleyball fan’ we live in the East Mountains and we love taking our 7th grade daughter to the home La Cueva matches. My daughter really looks up to Julia Warren, they met at the Lobo advanced skills camp this past summer and my daughter went and talked to Julia and she was very gracious. Then my daughter saw her at a Lobo match this year and Julia recognized her and talked to her for at least 10 minutes, Julia asked how school and volleyball was going. My daughter came back on cloud 9, we all can’t wait to see her in a Lobo uniform, it’s going to be fun to watch her lobo career. She’s a great young lady

We were at the game last night vs Sandia, Sandia played great. Julia needs alot of help from her teammates. their setter is playing well and Julia had at least 30 kills and great passing and defense, but man she needs to get some production from the rest of the team. I have been watching New Mexico high School volleyball for over 10 years and I have never seen a player who’s does everything on the court at a high level and effects every aspect of a match, she’s the best high scholl player I have ever seen on a poor team. THE REST OF THE BEARS NEED TO STEP UP!!!!!!!

  2. Dear Bear I hate to be the one to tell you that these are just 15 to 17 year old girls and volleyball is a team sport not an individual sport. Yes Julia and Brandi are very talented, but LCHS has many other girls on the “TEAM” that are also talented as does Cleveland HS, Sandia HS and every other High School in the state. I think your negative comments are in very poor taste for an adult!!!

  3. Dear VB fan, thanks for reading my response and responding to it. Except you are missing my point, did you read the first paragraph? I guess not.

  4. Bear, I’m not really sure how your first paragraph makes up for your second one. Julia is extremely talented and I’m assuming a very nice girl who inspires many young players that watch her. However, to imply that the rest of her team, all young girls themselves, are not trying hard or working hard (which I’m certain they are) by calling them “poor” IS in bad taste, especially coming from an adult.
Furthermore, I would also have to say that calling the #3 ranked team in the state “poor” at all is a bit of a stretch. They are a very good volleyball team, as is Sandia, whom I think is not nearly getting the credit that they should for that win.

  5. Bear,
If you accomplished your point in the first paragraph what is the need for the second? Your focus on the positive in the first paragraph was awesome, it’s always great to hear about the good in players or teams. However, the second paragraph was incredibly negative. Imagine if your daughter was playing on the La Cueva team and came to this site and read the second half of your post. Something that negative can really affect a high school girl, so the focus of this blog should be on the positive. (something Rich does very well–so let’s keep it that way in comments, too)
