Congrats to former UNM Lobo Kelly Williamson for being named the 2011-12 Mountain West Female Scholar-Athlete.
Williamson, majoring in conservation biology and a minor in sustainability studies, maintained a 3.98 cumulative GPA during her four years at UNM. She often used her experience with the UNM volleyball program as the basis for her honors thesis, proposing ways to offset the environmental impact of the team’s travel with on-campus renewable energy resources. The many “Love Red, Live Green” matches held by the Lobos can be directly attributed to Williamson’s efforts.
