Congrats to Cristal Quiñones for signing her national letter of intent to play with New Mexico Military Institute.

Quiñones was part of the talented Panther front line that helped bring home two state championships, in 2010 and 2011.

Since starting at NMMI in 2006, head coach Shelby Forchtner has actively recruited in the New Mexico area and Gadsden has proven to be fertile ground for talented recruits, including 2008  NMMI signee, Liz Castellanos. Quiñones looks to be no different.

“We are extremely excited to get a student athlete like Cristal not only will she be able to step in and push for a starting spot as a freshmen because of her history with Gadsden,” said Forchtner. “I feel the school really suits what she is searching for in terms of her future and law enforcement.  So she is a great addition to our class of freshmen for 2012 and we hope to see great things of her on  and off the court.”

Congratulations and good luck!
